Our client is an important telecom operator in Belgium.
It is looking for an experienced Radio Access Network Design & Optimization architect, who will be instrumental in defining and planning the Radio Network Design & Optimization strategy and deployment, while monitoring technical evolutions and adapting the network to the latest validated technologies and applying the best in class network design.
The position is based in Brussels and offers interesting career perspectives.
A CDI/ODC open ended contract is proposed with a very attractive package including company car.
Job Description
- The Design & Optimization architect will be managing the RAN design definition and evolution, setting the architectural objectives and deployment guidelines, maintaining the RAN Architecture cartography; the proposed RAN designs will be best in class answers to coverage and quality-of-service requirements.
- He/she is responsible of delivering RAN architectural solutions compliant with approved guidelines and strategy.
- The architect shall validate (costs & quality impacts on RAN design) new technologies proposed by Technology leaders and he/she shall adapt RAN strategy and deployment planning accordingly.
- The architect will formalize technical specifications, procedures and acceptance criteria (e.g. coverage, technical and quality of service) of the sites to be built and acquired by outsourcing partners.
- He/she coordinates Radio Design engineers in reviewing and fine-tuning design recommendations; he/she shall also communicate with and train the RAN community.
- He/she will act as technical interface on RAN with other Corporate divisions and with suppliers and contractors
Required Profile
- Industrial/Civil Engineer or Master in Telecom/IT
- At least 5 ideally 8 years functional and technical experience in a Mobile Telecom environment.
- Expertise in Radio Techniques (cellular engineering) and Radio Network Design & Optimization (or deployment) is imperative
- Ability to use Radio Planning tool (i.e. Netact or Parcell)
- Good generalist in networking techniques (2G GERAN, 3G UTRAN)
- Convincing in technical advisory to senior management
- Fluent in French/English or in Dutch/English.
- Limited travel but flexibility required
